Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, National Unity, National Ulama and Mashaikh Conference 2025, Pakistan's War on Terrorism, Maraka-e-Haq,

Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, addressing the National Ulama and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, highlighted the deep connection between Pakistan and the ideals of the Islamic state. He emphasised that respect and strength are not achieved through division, but through knowledge, hard work, and unity.

Field Marshal Munir underlined Pakistan’s unique role as the guardian of the holy sites, a responsibility granted by Allah over all Muslim nations. He stressed that in an Islamic state, no one outside the state has the authority to declare jihad, and scholars should work to keep the nation united while broadening public awareness and perspective.

On the security front, Munir described terrorism as a pattern originating from India rather than Pakistan, asserting that the country confronts its adversaries openly, not from hiding. He praised the recent victory in the “Maraka-e-Haq” attributing success to divine support and the courage of the armed forces.

“Honour and power are not divided—they are earned through knowledge and effort,” he said, urging the religious and tribal leaders to guide the public towards education and unity, and to play a constructive role in maintaining peace and national cohesion.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the same conference, lauding the armed forces under Field Marshal Munir’s leadership for their decisive action and bravery. He described the recent military successes against India as a result of strategic leadership and the nation’s collective prayers. The Prime Minister also highlighted the intertwined goals of national security and economic development, noting that terrorism and progress cannot coexist. He called for unity among all citizens and institutions to ensure sustainable growth and stability.

Both leaders emphasised the critical role of scholars in curbing sectarianism and fostering social cohesion. Field Marshal Munir urged that every citizen has a responsibility to safeguard Pakistan’s security, uphold Islamic values, and contribute to national development.

The conference reiterated the centrality of unity, knowledge, and civic responsibility in strengthening Pakistan’s resilience against internal and external threats, and in promoting lasting peace, education, and prosperity across the country.
