Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security environment and ongoing counter-terrorism operations across the region.
During the visit, the Army Chief attended the funeral prayers of the Shuhada who laid down their lives in the recent terrorist attack on Bannu Garrison. He also visited the injured personnel undergoing treatment at CMH Bannu. Paying rich tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces, he lauded their exemplary courage and unwavering resolve in confronting the Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij.
“Our armed forces stand as an unbreakable shield against terrorism, and the people of Pakistan remain firmly united in this noble cause,” the COAS stated. He reaffirmed the nation’s unflinching commitment to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
Delivering a clear and resolute message, Field Marshal Asim Munir declared that all facilitators, abettors, and perpetrators of terrorism will be hunted down and brought to justice — without exception and at any cost. “The face of the real perpetrator of terrorism in the region will be exposed before the world,” he asserted.
The COAS assured the nation that the blood of every innocent Pakistani will be avenged, and any attempt to destabilise the country will be met with immediate and decisive retribution.
Emphasising the importance of strengthening internal security institutions, he called for urgent enhancement of civilian law enforcement capacities, particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. He urged relevant government departments to prioritise this effort, while reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s continued support in building the operational strength of law enforcement agencies.
Upon arrival at the Corps Headquarters, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
