Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Kurram on Eid-ul-Fitr to celebrate the occasion with troops and officers, where he lauded their professionalism and reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorist threats and ensure lasting stability along the border regions.
The Field Marshal offered Eid prayers alongside officers and soldiers, praying for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Pakistan. He extended warm Eid greetings to the troops and commended their unwavering dedication, high morale, and steadfast commitment to the defence of the country under challenging operational conditions.
During his interaction, the Army Chief paid tribute to the valour and spirit of the Jawans, acknowledging their role in the successful execution of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, which has been aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and restoring peace in sensitive border areas. He noted that the achievements of the formations were a reflection of their professionalism, resilience, and coordinated operational capabilities.
Emphasizing the evolving security environment, the Field Marshal stated that terrorists operating from sanctuaries across the border in Afghanistan would not be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s security. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent position that Afghan soil must not be used by hostile elements for activities against Pakistan, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation for sustainable peace.
The Army Chief attributed ongoing operational successes to the supreme sacrifices rendered by the nation’s martyrs and the unwavering resolve of officers and soldiers who continue to serve with dedication and a sense of duty. He expressed deep pride in the troops’ steadfastness and their readiness to respond to emerging challenges.
Reiterating the Armed Forces’ commitment, the Field Marshal assured that Pakistan’s military remains fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all forms of threats.
Upon his arrival in Kurram, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
