Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), held a key meeting with Colonel General Hasanov Zakir Asgar Oglu, Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan, in Lachin on Wednesday, where both sides reaffirmed their shared resolve to deepen strategic and defence cooperation in view of evolving regional security dynamics.
During the meeting, the two military leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on regional stability, military collaboration, and enhanced training exchanges between the armed forces of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Field Marshal Asim Munir lauded the enduring brotherly relations between the two countries and underscored Pakistan’s firm commitment to further strengthening defence ties with Azerbaijan. He also appreciated Azerbaijan’s growing role in regional peace and security, terming bilateral military engagement as a pillar of trust and strategic convergence.
