Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, on Wednesday met a high-level delegation of World Liberty Financial from the United States to discuss financial inclusion and the strengthening of cross-border digital financial systems.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation was led by Zachary Witkoff, chief executive officer of the global fintech company. The meeting reflected growing interest among international private investment groups in Pakistan’s evolving economic landscape.
The ISPR said the engagement also highlighted increasing global confidence in Pakistan’s fintech sector, with discussions focused on expanding financial inclusion and developing secure, technology-driven digital financial frameworks.
During the meeting, Witkoff underscored Pakistan’s untapped economic potential and praised the leadership’s efforts to promote future-oriented technologies. He noted that the adoption of modern technological solutions could enable Pakistan to fully realize its economic capabilities.
Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed the delegation and termed the exchange of views constructive. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to economic stability, investor confidence, and the creation of a conducive environment for responsible private sector participation in national development.
The ISPR said the meeting underscored the leadership’s emphasis on leveraging technology and international collaboration to support long-term economic resilience and sustainable growth.
