Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) of Pakistan, met today in Abu Dhabi with His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates.
The high-level engagement reflected the deep-rooted fraternal ties and enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. During the meeting, both leaders held comprehensive discussions aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation across a broad spectrum of areas, with particular emphasis on economic collaboration, investment initiatives, and enhanced security coordination.
The two sides also exchanged views on evolving regional developments and reaffirmed their shared commitment to maintaining close coordination in order to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. Both dignitaries underscored the importance of sustained engagement and strategic dialogue to address common challenges and advance mutual interests.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Government and leadership of the United Arab Emirates for their longstanding support and substantial investments in Pakistan’s economic growth and development. He acknowledged the UAE’s consistent role in supporting Pakistan’s economy and security over the decades, noting that such cooperation is a testament to the strong historical bonds and brotherly relations between the two nations.
The Army Chief further commended the visionary leadership of the UAE for its constructive contributions toward economic and social development in Pakistan, highlighting the positive impact of bilateral partnerships in fostering sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
Reaffirming the depth of strategic understanding between the two countries, Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized that the security and stability of the United Arab Emirates remain closely intertwined with Pakistan’s own security interests. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to expanding collaboration in all domains, ensuring that the partnership continues to serve the collective interests of both brotherly peoples and contributes meaningfully to regional harmony and long-term stability.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to further elevate the Pakistan–UAE relationship through enhanced cooperation, mutual trust, and continued high-level engagement.
