Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Saudi Defense Minister Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, held a significant meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, in Riyadh today to discuss key aspects of Pakistan–Saudi defense cooperation and the evolving regional security landscape.

During the high-level talks, both leaders reviewed the Pakistan–Saudi defense agreement and assessed the latest developments in regional and geopolitical affairs. Emphasis was placed on deepening strategic cooperation and ensuring effective coordination between the two countries in addressing emerging security challenges.

The discussions also focused on recent attacks originating from Iran against Saudi Arabia. Field Marshal Munir and Prince Khalid exchanged views on measures to prevent such incidents in the future, within the framework of Pakistan–Saudi strategic and defense collaboration. Both sides expressed serious concern over the negative implications of these attacks on regional peace, security, and stability.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a secure and stable regional environment. Both countries expressed the hope that Iran would act responsibly, respect the sovereignty of neighboring states, and contribute positively to regional security.

The meeting reflected the close and enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the shared commitment of both nations to maintaining peace, preventing conflict, and strengthening defense and security cooperation in a complex regional environment.
