Indonesia’s Minister of Defence paid an official visit to Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) and met with Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, where discussions focused on regional and global security dynamics, defence cooperation, and institutional collaboration.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indonesian Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin visited GHQ and held a meeting with Field Marshal Asim Munir. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the evolving regional and international security environment.

The discussion also covered matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation. The two sides underscored the importance of strengthening institutional linkages, expanding training collaboration, and fostering cooperation in the defence industry.

ISPR said the Indonesian defence minister praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

He expressed Indonesia’s desire to further expand defence cooperation with Pakistan. Field Marshal Asim Munir, in turn, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to building strong, enduring defence relations based on shared strategic interests.
