A Special Guard of Honour ceremony was held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, to honour Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), in recognition of his historic elevation and service to the nation.
On the occasion, Field Marshal Asim Munir laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha to pay homage to the martyrs of Pakistan. The solemn ceremony reflected deep national reverence for those who laid down their lives in the defence of the country.
Dedicating the honour to the entire Pakistani nation, the Armed Forces, and especially the martyrs and veterans of both civil and military services, the Field Marshal said, “This honour is a tribute to the entire Pakistani Nation and the valiant men and women of the Armed Forces of Pakistan, particularly the martyrs who stood like a ‘Wall of Steel’ against Indian unprovoked, cowardly and unlawful aggression against Pakistan.”
The ceremony underscored the Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to national sovereignty and paid tribute to the enduring sacrifices of Pakistan’s heroes.
