Field Marshal Asim Munir, NI (M), presided over the 271st Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters (GHQ), reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s unwavering resolve to counter Indian-sponsored terrorism and defend national sovereignty at all costs.
The forum began with Fateha for the martyrs of recent terrorist attacks carried out by Indian-backed proxies. Emphasising that the blood of Pakistan’s Shuhada will never be in vain, the Army leadership reiterated that ensuring the safety and security of the Pakistani people remains the top priority of the Armed Forces.
Taking a firm stance, the forum stressed the need for “decisive and holistic actions at all levels” against terrorist elements supported by India. Highlighting India’s continued subversive tactics following its defeat in direct confrontation, particularly after the Pahalgam incident, the conference condemned India’s reliance on proxy groups like Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan to destabilise Pakistan.
COAS Munir shared insights from Pakistan’s recent proactive diplomatic engagements, including high-level visits to Iran, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, alongside the Prime Minister. The conference also reviewed the historic visit to the United States, where General Munir met with top-tier American leadership to present Pakistan’s strategic perspective on regional and global issues.
The forum assessed internal and external security challenges, especially the evolving situation in the Middle East and Iran, noting the rising trend of “use of force” in global policy. Emphasis was laid on strengthening self-reliant defence capabilities and promoting national unity.
Responding to recent provocations by the Indian Army, the COAS stated:
“Invoking third parties in a clearly bilateral conflict reflects a disingenuous attempt at bloc politics. India’s bid to portray itself as a regional security provider is faltering amid growing rejection of its hegemonic ambitions and extremist Hindutva ideology.”
The conference was also briefed on the Pakistan Army’s evolving operational strategies to counter emerging threats and the changing nature of warfare. COAS Munir lauded the contributions of the Pakistan Navy and Air Force in fostering seamless tri-services coordination.
In his concluding remarks, General Asim Munir expressed full confidence in the operational readiness and professionalism of the Pakistan Army to confront the complete threat spectrum, declaring the nation’s armed forces prepared and vigilant in the face of any challenge.
