The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested an official of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for allegedly issuing Pakistani Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals and other foreigners.
According to details, the FIA’s Counter-Terrorism Wing in Islamabad conducted a raid near the NADRA headquarters and apprehended the suspect. Media reports revealed that the official was found involved in unlawfully issuing fake CNICs to at least 17 Afghan nationals.
Following the arrest, the NADRA employee was transferred to the Counter-Terrorism Police Station in Islamabad. FIA officials confirmed that further investigation is currently underway
