“Fear Is Over” — Pashtun Leader Challenges TTP to Face the People

In a bold and defiant message, prominent Pashtun tribal leader Inamullah Marwat has publicly challenged the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), declaring that the fear of militants among locals is over and the people are ready to confront them head-on.

Addressing the TTP directly, Marwat demanded clarity on whether their so-called war is against the military or the very people of Pakistan. “If your war is against the nation, then come face us,” he said, adding, “We are standing in the open—don’t attack like cowards in the dark of night.”

Calling TTP members “jackals hiding in the bushes,” Marwat ridiculed their cowardice and accused them of preying on civilians while hiding in caves. “Come out like men if you have the courage,” he challenged.

Marwat made it clear that the local tribes no longer consider the TTP a threat. “In front of the nation, you’re not even worth a straw. Who do you think you are?”

This fiery statement signals a powerful shift: local resistance is rising, and the days of militant fear and silence in tribal areas are rapidly fading. The people are speaking—and they’re ready to fight back.
