A soldier of the Frontier Corps (FC) was martyred in a sniper attack carried out by militants at the Chota Landawar post in the restive Tirah Valley of Khyber District late Friday night.
According to official sources, militants identified as Khawarij launched a surprise sniper assault on the security post, targeting personnel stationed in the volatile region near the Afghanistan border.
As a result of the attack, Havaldar Muhammad Sharif sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them despite immediate medical attention. The FC soldier was reportedly performing routine duty at the time of the incident.

Security forces responded swiftly, launching a search operation in the surrounding area to trace the attackers. However, no arrests or engagements were reported at the time of filing this report.
