In recent years, Pakistan has faced unprecedented internal and external trials. Among the most dangerous threats is the resurgence of the Khawarij deviant insurgents masquerading as Islamic warriors, yet promoting chaos and bloodshed under the deceptive guise of religion. This fitna (trial) has taken a more insidious turn with individuals like Noor Wali Mehsud, whose ideology and actions reflect not Islamic values, but the geopolitical designs of India—Islam’s historical adversary in the region.
Recently, a video message by Noor Wali Mehsud surfaced in which he not only legitimizes alliances with non-believers especially Hindu India but cloaks such collaborations in the misleading veil of “religious wisdom.” Even more disturbingly, he attempts to rebrand this alliance as a form of jihad. Such claims are in stark contradiction to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and they tarnish the peaceful and luminous image of Islam.
To suggest that an alliance with disbelievers is a strategic “wisdom” is a desperate attempt to conceal the truth. The reality is now evident to all: under covert Indian support, the Khawarij have launched an orchestrated campaign against Islam and Muslims. Their operations—whether in Pakistan or Afghanistan shed the blood of fellow Muslims, and the financial and material backing they receive from foreign governments is shamelessly declared as funding for “jihad.”
The Holy Qur’an condemns such actions in unequivocal terms. In Surah Al-Ma’idah, verse 51, Allah commands:
“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you—then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.”
This verse leaves no ambiguity forming alliances with non-believers, particularly those hostile to Islam, is contrary to the very fabric of Islamic belief. When Noor Wali Mehsud chooses to twist this principle, one must ask: what religion is he truly following? When the divine guidance is so explicit, what drives him into such darkness?
The answer lies in the foreign forces supporting this entire agenda forces whose trail leads directly to India. Pakistan’s military spokesman, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, recently reiterated in a press conference that India has been involved in state-sponsored terrorism against Pakistan for over two decades, a claim supported by countless pieces of evidence.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also warned of the emergence of such groups in the Sahih al-Bukhari, saying:
“There will emerge from my Ummah people whose prayers will make you consider your own prayers insignificant, and they will recite the Qur’an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion as an arrow passes through the target.”
This description fits the Khawarij perfectly. Despite outward displays of religiosity long prayers, recitations, and slogans they remain outside the fold of Islam, using religion as a smokescreen to spread violence. Their “fatwas,” “strategies,” and “alliances” are not only misguided but stand as open betrayals of Islam.
Historically, the Khawarij have always manipulated Islamic terms for personal or political gain. By calling an alliance with disbelievers a form of “wisdom,” they mislead the masses and exploit the faith of innocent youth, drawing them into a false jihad that results in suicide attacks and bloodshed—not in the path of God, but to serve geopolitical agendas.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“The true Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hands other Muslims are safe.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Can anyone claim that Noor Wali Mehsud and his followers live by this standard?
India, on the other hand, continues to covertly expand its influence in the region through such proxy groups. These Khawarij appear under the banner of Islam, but in essence, are instruments of a wider agenda aimed at dividing and weakening Muslims from within. India’s investment in religious strife is strategic it aims to create internal fissures that prevent Muslim unity and resistance.
Noor Wali Mehsud’s recent statements unmask the true face of the Khawarij. By justifying support from a non-Muslim state like India and labeling it a religious tactic, he exposes the ideological bankruptcy of his movement. How can terrorism financed by a known enemy of Islam be considered “jihad”?
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also warned:
“Whoever even partially helps in the killing of a Muslim shall meet Allah with this written on his forehead: ‘Desperate for the mercy of Allah.’”
These warnings are not just theological statements they are moral indictments of movements that claim divine sanction while violating the very core of Islamic teachings.
It is, therefore, the religious duty of every Muslim to recognize these fitnas, stay away from them, and speak against them. Islam is a religion of peace, justice, and truth not one of deceit, violence, or betrayal. The actions of the Khawarij do not represent jihad; they represent treachery. They do not defend Islam they defile it.
To Noor Wali Mehsud and his followers, the question remains: If your jihad is genuine, then why do you accept military and financial aid from those you claim to fight? Why has no respected Islamic scholar—no imam, no muhaddith, no mujtahid ever endorsed a “jihad” built upon alliances with those actively killing Muslims?
Islam’s message is clear: alliance and loyalty belong only to Allah, His Messenger, and the believers. Any pact with the enemies of Islam, especially those that fund the spilling of Muslim blood, is not wisdom it is treason. And treason, both in this world and the next, brings nothing but disgrace.
