FAK Terror Hideouts Destroyed in Joint Police–Public Operation in Bannu Region

Acting on the directives of DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan and DPO Bannu Saleem Abbas Kalachi, a successful joint operation was carried out against the banned terrorist group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in several areas, including Domel’s Kam Chashmi, Barghanto Dam, Marakay Bera, and surrounding localities.

The TTP, which the state has declared as “Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK),” had been launching cross-border terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil from its safe havens inside Afghanistan. In response, local police forces, backed by residents of the area, mounted a swift and coordinated action.

The operation saw the active participation of SP CTD Fazal Wahid, SP Rural Mahmood Nawaz, several DSPs, SHOs, and the local population, who stood shoulder to shoulder with the police. Due to the effective and timely action, and the strategic cordon of the area, the terrorists were forced to flee.

During the operation, multiple hideouts of the FAK were destroyed, and four IEDs, reportedly being prepared for sabotage, were recovered and successfully defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

DIG Sajjad Khan and DPO Saleem Abbas Kalachi praised the police team and local residents for their cooperation and bravery. They reiterated that operations against the “Fitna al-Khawarij” would be intensified to ensure lasting peace in the Bannu region.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, also commended the police for the successful and effective operation. He lauded the bravery, professionalism, and dedication of the officers in protecting the lives and property of citizens. The IGP reaffirmed the force’s commitment to continue such operations with full resolve and determination, until the menace of terrorism is eradicated from the province.
