In a shocking act of brutality, banned militant group as declared by the state, executed a mentally ill man in the Shiwa area of North Waziristan, accusing him of espionage.

The victim, identified as Mohammadullah Mehsud, was a long-term mental health patient from Lattaka Shahi Khel village in South Waziristan’s Makeen area. According to family sources, Mohammadullah had been suffering from mental illness for over 20 years.

He had recently escaped from Khawaja Younas Hospital in Peshawar, but due to alleged negligence by hospital authorities, his family was not informed in time, leaving him vulnerable and exposed in a volatile region.

Local sources confirm that Khawarij abducted the mentally challenged man and brutally killed him, falsely accusing him of spying. The horrific incident has sparked outrage and fear in the tribal belt, highlighting the growing ruthlessness of terrorist groups even toward society’s most vulnerable individuals.

“This is not just a murder, it is an act of terror against humanity,” a local resident told reporters on condition of anonymity. “He was unwell, defenceless, and posed no threat to anyone.”

Human rights activists and community leaders have condemned the killing and called for swift action against the perpetrators, while also demanding accountability from the hospital whose negligence may have contributed to the tragedy.

The incident underscores the continued threat posed by TTP militants in Pakistan’s tribal areas, despite ongoing military operations. It also raises questions about the state’s ability to protect its most vulnerable citizens from militant violence.
