Security forces successfully thwarted a major terrorist attack in Tiarza, South Waziristan, by intercepting a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) laden with drums and containers of explosives.

According to officials, the vehicle was discovered during a routine security check. On warning shots fired by the forces, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams were immediately dispatched and safely defused the massive cache, preventing a potentially catastrophic incident.

Authorities credited the prompt and vigilant response of the security personnel for averting a large-scale attack, underlining the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
