An explosion ripped through the Kausar Cricket Ground in Bajaur on Saturday, killing one person and injuring several others, according to initial reports. The deceased was identified as Fazlullah, while the injured were swiftly shifted to nearby hospitals by rescue teams and local volunteers. Medical staff confirmed that some of the victims were in critical condition.
Soon after the incident, law enforcement agencies reached the site, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation. Bomb disposal experts and investigators were also called in to determine the nature and cause of the blast.
Local officials said the ground was crowded at the time of the explosion, raising fears of a higher casualty count. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while investigations continue. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. Bajaur, which borders Afghanistan, has in the past witnessed sporadic militant activity, though security forces have significantly scaled up operations in recent years to restore peace in the region.
