A former Haqqani Network commander has urged fighters to back the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) following a deadly strike in Balochistan. Hayatullah, known as “Ghalchaki Tangiwal,” called on his supporters via social media to help transport the bodies of those killed in the Zhob attack and to join retaliatory strikes, pleading: “Do not leave us alone.”
Hayatullah, who once led the “Fatih Caravan” under Sangeen’s group in the Haqqani Network and commanded a combat unit in Paktika’s Zerok district, has reemerged in the spotlight amid renewed violence.
On August 7, Pakistani forces targeted 33 TTP fighters moving from Paktika’s Warmami district toward Zhob, Balochistan, killing and injuring several. Local sources in Warmami reported that Hayatullah’s men later forced doctors to treat the wounded militants.
Sangeen’s faction has long been accused of supporting TTP offensives against Pakistani forces. Reports suggest the Afghan Taliban has placed several of its leaders, including Bilal Fatih — brother of slain commander Mawlawi Sangeen — under house arrest.
