Eight Khwarij Killed as Pakistan Army Thwarts Cross-Border Terror Bid in North Waziristan

Security forces foiled an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists from across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border during the night of April 5-6 in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to the ISPR, the movement of the terrorists identified as Khwarij was detected in time and effectively engaged by Pakistani troops. In the ensuing exchange of fire, eight terrorists were killed while four others sustained injuries.

The military’s media wing reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding call on the Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective management of the border and prevent the use of Afghan soil by terrorists to carry out attacks against Pakistan.

A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining threat, ISPR added, affirming that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to secure the country’s borders and eradicate terrorism in all its forms.
