Drone Strike on Bannu Police Station by Fitna al-Khawarij; No Casualties Reported

The Khawarij outfit Fitna al-Khawarij, reportedly backed by Indian intelligence, carried out a drone attack on the Miryan Police Station in Bannu late Friday night, marking a dangerous escalation in their tactics. Fortunately, the assault caused no casualties. According to initial reports, the drone targeted the rooftop of the police station, damaging several solar panels installed on the building. Police officials confirmed that the explosion caused material damage, but no personnel were injured.

“This appears to be a calculated attempt by the Khawarij to undermine state institutions through remote aerial attacks,” said a senior police officer. The use of drone technology by the group is being viewed as a concerning development in the security landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Fitna al-Khawarij has been previously linked to a series of cross-border destabilization efforts, including a drone attack on schoolchildren in South Waziristan earlier this year. The group’s deliberate targeting of civilian and security infrastructure underscores its agenda to foment chaos in the region.

Security forces have launched an investigation and stepped up surveillance measures across sensitive installations. Authorities have reiterated their resolve to defend national sovereignty against the Khawarij and their foreign backers.
