Doctrinal Shift: Pakistan Declares Unrestrained Action Against Terrorists

The Inter-Services Public Relations has declared that Pakistan will conduct uncompromising operations against terrorists regardless of their location, signaling a hardened security posture following the recent Bannu attack.

In an official statement, ISPR said the Afghan Taliban government has completely failed to prevent the use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan.

The statement reaffirmed that security forces will now pursue militants without distinction of geographical boundaries, underscoring a shift toward location-neutral counterterror operations.

According to ISPR, the attack on security forces in Bannu was traced to the Gul Bahadur group operating from Afghan soil. The assault occurred during an intelligence-based operation conducted on credible information about the presence of Khawarij elements, including a suicide bomber.

Security forces intercepted the vehicle-borne attacker in time, preventing what officials described as a major catastrophe in Bannu city. During the operation, five Khawarij were killed in an exchange of fire.

In a final act of desperation, the militants rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into one of the leading military vehicles, resulting in the martyrdom of Lieutenant Colonel Sahibzada Gul Faraz and Sepoy Karamat Shah.

ISPR stated that operations against terrorists will continue with full intensity and without restraint
