Disinformation Alert: Claims of RAW Rescue Effort for Khawarij Are Baseless

Disinformation, RAW, Khawarij, North Waziristan, Pakistani security forces

RAW-linked disinformation is circulating on social media, falsely suggesting that India’s intelligence agency is attempting to “rescue” terrorists of the banned TTP, identified as Fitna al-Khawarij, currently under siege by Pakistani security forces in Tehsil Shewa, North Waziristan.

Let’s be clear: this narrative is pure disinformation, designed to distort ground realities and distract from the ongoing successful counter-terror operations by Pakistan’s security apparatus. These attempts to create confusion or question Pakistan’s internal control only further expose the desperation of hostile propaganda networks.

According to credible security sources, 6–8 Khawarij have already been eliminated, and several more remain encircled as part of a continuing intelligence-based operation in the area. The situation is firmly under control, with no indication of any external involvement, let alone a so-called “rescue mission” by a foreign intelligence agency.

The timing and tone of this fake news suggest a clear agenda: to downplay the effectiveness of Pakistan’s counter-terror efforts, particularly in regions where terrorist networks have suffered heavy losses. This follows a pattern of propaganda often used by proxies and sympathisers to regain narrative ground after battlefield defeats.

Pakistan’s armed forces and intelligence agencies continue to operate with professionalism, precision, and national resolve, committed to rooting out terrorism in all its forms, regardless of who backs or shelters it.

The public is advised to avoid spreading unverified claims, and instead rely on official updates for accurate information regarding security operations.
