Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, on Tuesday declared that security forces will pursue terrorists and their facilitators “to every corner, wherever it becomes necessary,” asserting that Pakistan’s political and military leadership has absolute clarity and unity on counterterrorism.

Addressing a high-level press briefing, the DG ISPR said there was no confusion, ambiguity, or division within the state regarding the fight against terrorism, stressing that decisive action would continue against all terrorist networks threatening Pakistan’s security.

“The state’s position is clear,” Lieutenant General Chaudhry said. “There is complete alignment between political leadership, military leadership, and national institutions. Terrorists and those who facilitate them will be chased and eliminated wherever they operate.”

He emphasized that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign is intelligence-led, sustained, and national in character, backed by public consensus and institutional coordination built over more than two decades of conflict.

The DG ISPR reiterated that extremist groups have no link to Islam and warned that terrorist sanctuaries and facilitators, particularly those operating from across the border, remain a central challenge to regional stability. He noted that Afghanistan continues to be used as a base for planning, training, and directing attacks against Pakistan, with terrorist groups exploiting cross-border space, advanced weaponry, and emerging technologies.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry underlined that Pakistan’s security forces target only terrorists and their enablers, rejecting allegations of indiscriminate action. “Our operations are precise, intelligence-driven, and focused solely on terrorists and their facilitators. Civilians are never the target,” he said.

Highlighting the scale of operations, the DG ISPR said tens of thousands of intelligence-based operations have been conducted across the country, resulting in the neutralization of thousands of terrorists, while acknowledging the heavy sacrifices rendered by security personnel in the process.

He stressed that counterterrorism is not the responsibility of the armed forces alone but a collective struggle involving the state, institutions, and citizens. “This is a people’s war,” he said. “Pakistan will not allow terrorism to re-root itself, nor will it tolerate facilitators who enable violence under any pretext.”

The press briefing concluded with a clear warning that Pakistan’s response to terrorism would remain relentless, coordinated, and uncompromising, guided by national resolve and a unified chain of decision-making.
