Pakistan’s military spokesperson has said that India’s political and military leadership is dominated by a mindset of self-deception, adding that recent Indian claims about Operation Sindoor are meant only to defuse public anger after suffering losses in the engagement.

During a media briefing, the DG ISPR said that the Indian Army Chief’s statement about showing a trailer during Operation Sindoor reflects an unrealistic and self-deceptive mindset. He remarked that if a trailer shows seven aircraft being shot down, twenty six targets being hit and S 400 batteries destroyed, then turning such a trailer into a full film would amount to a horror show for India. He said that repeated false Indian claims about Sindoor are aimed at pacifying domestic outrage.

Shift to Illegal Smuggling and Terror Financing

The DG ISPR warned that any country supplying military equipment to the Afghan Taliban regime is effectively placing these weapons into the hands of terrorists. He said that Pakistan has traced a toxic anti state narrative to X accounts being operated from abroad, adding that these external accounts attempt to poison political debates and domestic issues. According to him, the social media activity that appears to originate inside Pakistan is in fact backed by foreign hands, which remain engaged in shaping a hostile narrative against the state round the clock.

He said that all governments and political parties agree that the solution to terrorism lies in the National Action Plan. For its implementation, a coordinated system has been developed in Balochistan, although the same structure is lacking in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the Balochistan framework, steering, monitoring and implementation committees have been formed at district, divisional and provincial levels.

Iranian Diesel Smuggling and Its Link to BLA and BYC

The army spokesperson highlighted that the smuggling of Iranian diesel is one of the major drivers of the illegal economy and that the money generated from it is used for terrorism. Before the recent crackdown by the army, the Frontier Corps and the provincial government, twenty point five million litres of diesel were being smuggled daily. The figure has now dropped to two point seven million litres per day.

He said that proceeds from Iranian diesel smuggling directly fund militant outfits such as the BLA and BYC. The DG ISPR added that recent National Action Plan implementation has brought policing to twenty seven districts of Balochistan, covering eighty six percent of the province. Security forces and the provincial government are also maintaining consistent community engagement across Balochistan, with around one hundred and forty engagements daily and nearly four thousand each month. He said these efforts are producing long term results and that terrorism cannot be controlled without such coordinated measures.
