DG ISPR Confirms 26 Pakistanis Martyred, 46 Injured in Cowardly Indian Attacks; Armed Forces Deliver Decisive Response

Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has confirmed that 26 Pakistani civilians were martyred and 46 others injured in a series of unprovoked and cowardly Indian attacks carried out during the night of May 6 and 7.

Addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR stated that India repeated its history of cowardice by targeting civilian areas across multiple locations. Among the sites hit was Masjid Bilal near Muzaffarabad, where three worshippers embraced martyrdom. In Muridke, another mosque was deliberately targeted, resulting in the martyrdom of three men and injuries to one civilian. In Kotli, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy were also martyred. No casualties were reported from Sialkot and Shakargarh despite the aggression.

In Ahmedpur Sharqia, the DG ISPR disclosed that 13 lives were lost in a particularly brutal attack. “The Armed Forces of Pakistan gave a prompt and decisive response within moments of the aggression and continue to retaliate effectively,” he said.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry further revealed that the Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian fighter jets and one drone in response to the unprovoked violation. “The Indian aircraft were downed while they were engaged in hostile action inside Pakistani territory,” he added.

He also rejected the baseless accusations made by India, calling them a desperate attempt to justify its aggression without presenting any credible evidence.

The DG ISPR reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend its sovereignty and protect its citizens at all costs.
