Details of Suicide Bomber Involved in Tirah Security Headquarters Attack Revealed

Suicide Bomber, Tirah Security Headquarters Attack, Khyber

The suicide bomber who was killed in the attack on the Tirah Security Headquarters has been identified as Atifullah, also known as Qari Umar. He was the son of Fazal Rahman, also known as Pehlwan, and belonged to the Zakhakhel tribe of Tappa Khisrogi/Payindi in Habiabano Chowk.

Atifullah was the nephew of Mufti Munibullah, the head of the Jamia Muhammadia Madrassa in Habiabano Chowk. He was also the nephew of Commander Zahoor, a key figure in the Zakha Khel tribe and currently serving as a commander in the Toheed Islam Group’s peace committee in the Zakhakhel market.

It has been reported that the suicide bomber was a resident of the Tirah Valley and had ties to Commander Zahoor, who resides in Mehmund Ghaz Burak Bungalow.

On Friday, security forces repelled a major militant assault in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District when Qari Umar, the vehicle-borne suicide bomber, targeted the Pakistan Army’s 27 Brigade, which operates under the command of the 26 FF unit at the Parak Bangla Battalion. The attack began with the detonation of an explosive-laden vehicle, followed by heavy firing from both small and large weapons.

Troops responded immediately, engaging the assailants in a fierce exchange of fire. One soldier was martyred while several others sustained injuries.
