Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and top military leadership, paid a critical visit to the headquarters of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) as regional tensions flare.

According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the country’s top civil and military leadership received an in-depth briefing on the prevailing national security landscape, with a sharp focus on India’s escalating aggressive posture along Pakistan’s eastern border.

Officials apprised the leadership of evolving regional threats, including conventional military risks, hybrid warfare strategies, and the growing use of terrorist proxies. The national leadership emphasized the urgency of bolstering surveillance, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and strengthening operational preparedness to decisively deter any violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the ISI’s vital role in protecting national interests and ensuring informed decision-making amid an increasingly complex security environment. He reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering support for its brave armed forces, describing them as among the most professional and disciplined in the world.

The leadership jointly reiterated Pakistan’s ironclad resolve to defend its territorial integrity, pledging that the country remains fully prepared to respond to all threats—conventional or otherwise—with unity, strength, and strategic coordination.
