Security forces carried out a swift and effective operation in the Azam Warsak area (Karamzi Stop) of Lower South Waziristan, killing a suicide bomber and inflicting heavy losses on the Khawarij, officials confirmed on Thursday. Sources said the operation began when a suicide attacker was intercepted and taken down before he could execute his plan. In the ensuing action, security forces confronted his accomplices, who attempted to resist but were overpowered in a precise and coordinated response.
The engagement resulted in several Khawarij being killed or wounded, with the area brought under full control of the forces. Officials described the action as a “timely intervention” that foiled a major attempt to destabilise the region.
The Azam Warsak belt has historically been exploited by the Khawarij due to its challenging terrain and proximity to the Afghan frontier. However, recent months have seen intensified counter-operations aimed at dismantling their presence and ensuring long-term peace in the tribal districts.
The region has since been placed on high alert, with reinforcements deployed to guard against any further infiltration attempts. Local communities, officials said, have also shown strong support for the operations, helping consolidate peace efforts in South Waziristan. The operation stands as another demonstration of the armed forces’ commitment to eradicating the Khawarij menace and safeguarding the stability of Pakistan’s tribal belt.
