In a daring intelligence-based operation against the outlawed Fitna al-Khawarij, Hangu Police, under the command of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid, have arrested 14 suspected Khawarij and seized a large cache of weapons.

The successful operation was carried out on special directives of IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed and RPO Kohat Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat, as part of the provincial police’s intensified campaign to uproot terrorist and safeguard civilian lives.

The targeted anti-terror sweep was conducted in multiple areas under Doaba Police Station, including Naryab Dam, Chapri Naryab, Shanawari, Zargari, Dand, Tora Wari, and adjoining localities, all flagged for suspected terrorist activity.

According to DPO Khalid, actionable intelligence pointed to the presence of elements affiliated with banned organisations, including local Khawarij commanders and facilitators actively plotting subversive activities in the region.

The operation saw the professional deployment of elite units, including Al-Buraq Commandos, Elite Force, Rapid Response Force (RRF), Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), and the District Special Branch (DSB). The teams carried out comprehensive search and sweep operations, securing both light and heavy weapons from the suspects.

Recovered items include 01 machine gun; 04 Kalashnikov rifles, 02 hand grenades, 02 shotguns, 01 pistol, and 60 rounds of mixed-bore ammunition.

DPO Khalid further confirmed that the crackdown targeted Khawarij-linked facilitators and local commanders, believed to be behind recent terror activity in the region, including the brutal killing of a Frontier Corps Naib Subedar near Naryab Dam just days earlier.

He reiterated that Hangu Police remain on high alert, fully prepared to confront terrorism head-on and willing to make every sacrifice necessary to protect the lives and property of citizens.

The operation marks another strong step in the state’s resolve to eliminate terror roots, particularly those hiding in civilian areas under the guise of ideology, and sends a clear message: there is no room for Fitna al-Khawarij in Pakistan.
