The death toll from the cowardly terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar has climbed to six, after eighth-grade student Sehr Saleem tragically succumbed to her injuries. The calculated assault on schoolchildren has triggered nationwide grief and drawn sharp international condemnation from Germany and Türkiye.
According to News reprts, Sehr Saleem, who had sustained critical injuries in the bombing, passed away during treatment, raising the number of martyred students to four. In total, six lives have been lost in the devastating attack—one of the most harrowing in recent memory.
The bombing occurred a day earlier when a school bus carrying students was targeted in a deliberate terrorist strike, claiming five lives on the spot—including three schoolgirls—and leaving 38 others injured.
Security sources revealed that the attack was masterminded in India and carried out through proxy operatives active in Balochistan. The alarming disclosure has renewed concerns over foreign-sponsored terrorism targeting Pakistani civilians.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered a case at its police station under charges of murder, attempted murder, and terrorism, with the FIR lodged on behalf of local police.
Funeral prayers for martyred student Hafza Kausar were held in Okara with participation from Pakistan Army personnel, local dignitaries, political leaders, and hundreds of mourners. A somber silence gripped the town as tearful farewells were offered.
Meanwhile, the body of Saniyah Soomro, another young victim, has been brought to Sadiqabad. Her funeral is scheduled to take place today in her ancestral village, Goth Jora. Her younger brother, Mubashir Ali, was among those wounded in the attack.
The bombing drew strong condemnation from the international community. The German Ambassador to Pakistan described the attack as “horrific” and expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the affected families.
