Pakistan’s security forces neutralized five militants belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Mangochar area of Balochistan, security sources confirmed.

The operation was launched after authorities received a verified intelligence tip-off indicating the presence of militants hiding inside a fortified compound in the locality. The information suggested the site was being used as a covert hideout and facilitation hub.

Acting on the lead, a specialized operational team was immediately dispatched to the area. Upon arrival, security forces cordoned off the compound, sealing all entry and exit routes to prevent any escape.

As troops tightened the perimeter, the militants opened fire from inside the structure, triggering an intense exchange. Security personnel responded with measured and effective force, engaging the militants while maintaining tactical containment.

After a prolonged gun battle, all five militants were neutralized inside the compound. Security teams subsequently moved in and recovered the dead bodies from the site.

Officials said the hideout was completely cleared during the assault. The structure, described as a concealed operational base, was destroyed as part of the action to deny any future militant use.

Weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment were also seized during the clearance phase, indicating the compound’s role in planning and coordinating subversive activities.

Following the firefight, forces conducted a search operation in surrounding areas to trace possible facilitators or additional militants. The broader vicinity was sanitized before the operation was formally concluded.

Security authorities termed the mission resolved and successful, noting that timely intelligence and rapid response helped avert potential terrorist activity in the region.

They reiterated that intelligence-driven operations would continue across Balochistan to dismantle militant networks, their sanctuaries, and logistical support systems.
