CTD Seizes Large Cache of Weapons in Khyber District, Preventing Potential Attack

In a decisive anti-terrorism operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully intercepted a large cache of weapons in Khyber District, preventing a potentially catastrophic attack in Peshawar and surrounding areas. The operation, based on timely intelligence, underscores the ongoing vigilance of Pakistani security forces in safeguarding public safety.

According to official sources, CTD’s specialized team carried out a targeted raid in the Alam Goder area of the tribal region, following credible information regarding hidden arms. The operation was supervised by DSP Farhad Hussain and led on the ground by SHO CTD Khyber, Inspector Wajid Ali.

During the raid, security personnel recovered a substantial arsenal buried underground, including rocket launchers, mortar shells, hand grenades, and a variety of automatic firearms. Authorities warned that the seized weapons could have been deployed in large-scale terrorist attacks, posing severe threats to civilian populations and critical infrastructure in the region.

CTD officials stated that the prompt and strategic operation not only neutralized the immediate threat in Khyber District but also averted potential large-scale destruction in Peshawar and nearby areas. The department has intensified security measures across the district and launched follow-up operations to locate the unidentified suspects involved in the weapons cache.

The Counter-Terrorism Department continues to urge the public to report suspicious activity and remains actively engaged in intelligence-led operations to dismantle terrorist networks across the region.
