Acting on the special directives of the Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intelligence based operations against terrorists and their facilitators continued on Wednesday. As part of this campaign, the CTD North Waziristan carried out an intelligence driven operation in Miranshah that led to the arrest of two key facilitators linked to the suicide attack on the joint police and security forces check post in Datta Khel Bazaar.
The arrested individuals were identified as Yaram Jan son of Badshah Deen and Latifullah son of Shana Jan, both residents of Datta Khel. They are wanted in several cases of terrorism, murder and attempted murder.
The suicide attack involved an explosives laden vehicle that targeted the joint check post. Police Constable Hakeem Khan, along with three security personnel including a havildar, and one civilian were martyred in the blast. The case had been registered at CTD Police Station Bannu.
The Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa praised the CTD operation and action teams for the successful arrests. He said the terrorists and their facilitators are black sheep hiding among the public and vowed to bring them to their logical end.
