CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kills 144 Terrorists, Arrests 86 in Four-Month Intelligence Operations Across 22 Districts

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a detailed report on its anti-terror operations conducted between January and April 2025, revealing that 259 terrorist incidents occurred across 22 districts. A total of 1,107 terrorists were named in these cases, of whom 144 were killed and 86 arrested during intelligence-based operations.

In North Waziristan, 52 terror incidents were recorded, with 391 terrorists named and 12 killed. Bannu witnessed 31 incidents, in which 37 were named, 18 killed, and 19 still absconding. Dera Ismail Khan saw 29 attacks, naming 136 terrorists, of whom 67 were killed and two arrested. Similarly, Lakki Marwat experienced 29 attacks, leading to the naming of 79 terrorists, nine of whom were killed and one arrested.

In Khyber District, 18 incidents occurred, with 17 militants named and two arrested. Bajaur saw 15 incidents naming four terrorists, all of whom remain at large. South Waziristan reported 13 attacks involving 16 named terrorists, five of whom were killed.

Peshawar was the site of 12 terror-related incidents, with 19 terrorists named. Tank also experienced 12 incidents, in which 95 individuals were named; 14 were killed. In Karak, eight incidents led to the naming of 51 suspects, of whom eight were killed, while 43 are still wanted.

Kurram District stood out with eight incidents involving 166 named terrorists, of whom 70 were captured — the highest number of arrests in any district. In Kohat, five attacks resulted in the naming of nine individuals, with four arrested and one killed.

Smaller-scale activity was reported in Nowshera, with four incidents and one terrorist both named and killed. Mardan had three attacks naming 45 suspects, with one arrest made. Charsadda saw three incidents with three terrorists named and one killed.

In Orakzai and Shangla, three incidents each were reported, with 11 terrorists named across both districts. Lower Dir had three incidents, naming 14 individuals, two of whom were killed and two arrested. Hangu also saw three incidents, in which one terrorist was named and killed.

In Swat, two attacks led to the naming of six terrorists; three were arrested and one was killed. Malakand experienced two incidents involving four named terrorists — all of whom were killed. Haripur saw a single terrorist incident, with two suspects named and one arrested.

The CTD has reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorism from the province, noting that 877 named terrorists remain on the run, and operations to track and neutralise them are ongoing.
