The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested an India-backed terrorist during an operation in Sahiwal and recovered explosive material and other items allegedly intended for a planned terrorist attack on sensitive installations.
According to CTD sources, the suspect was identified as Roz Ali Khan, a resident of Urmar Miana in Peshawar district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The suspect is accused of carrying out espionage activities on behalf of India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).
CTD sources said the suspect was taken into custody while allegedly planning to target sensitive installations in Koh Noor City, located on Faisalabad Road in Okara.
During the operation, authorities recovered explosive material, a prima card, detonators, electric wire, three batteries and two mobile phones from the suspect’s possession.
The recovered material has been taken into custody as evidence, while the suspect has been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
CTD officials said investigations are underway to determine the suspect’s alleged network, facilitators and possible links with other terrorist elements. Further legal proceedings have also been initiated in accordance with the law.
