CTD Foils Major Terror Plot in Quetta’s Saryab Area
Explosives, grenades and automatic weapons seized; two suspects arrested
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) thwarted a major terror plot in Quetta’s sensitive Saryab area by conducting a timely intelligence-based operation, officials said on Saturday.
According to CTD officials, a significant quantity of explosive material, automatic weapons, and hand grenades was recovered during the operation. Two suspected terrorists were taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
Initial findings revealed that the planned attack was to be carried out within the next 72 hours with the aim of causing widespread chaos and loss of life in the city.
A CTD spokesperson said the department will continue to intensify operations against terrorist elements to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
