Acting on special instructions from the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has intensified targeted operations against the terrorist network Fitna al-Khawarij, following recent attacks on police personnel and security forces.
Early this morning, based on verified intelligence, CTD teams carried out a precision operation in Dera Ismail Khan. Upon arrival at the location, the terrorists opened fire to evade capture. In response, CTD personnel engaged in defensive action, resulting in the elimination of the hostile operatives.
During the subsequent search operation, the bodies of three terrorists were recovered and identified as Nematullah, Abdul Rauf Afghani, and Mustafa. Investigations confirm that all three were directly involved in attacks against police and security forces in the region.
In light of intelligence suggesting the presence of additional terrorists and facilitators in the area, the CTD has expanded search operations and intensified the scope of the ongoing investigation.
Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, along with Additional ICTD officials, commended the CTD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams for their professionalism and bravery during the operation. The IG emphasized that targeted operations against Fitna al-Khawarij will continue with renewed intensity and that the response to attacks on police and security forces will remain uncompromising until every external threat is neutralized.
These operations underline the province’s commitment to eliminating terrorist networks, ensuring the safety of law enforcement personnel, and maintaining public security. Authorities reiterate their call for public vigilance and cooperation as security forces continue to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and prevent further threats to regional stability.
