Fitna al-Khwarij, Terrorist Eliminated in Peshawar, Security Forces, Operation Azm-e-Istehkam and Operation Shabaan, Pakistan's War on Terror and India-Sponsored Terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Security forces eliminated a terrorist affiliated with Fitna al-Khwarij during a counterterrorism operation in the Matani area on the outskirts of Peshawar, security sources said on Friday.

The operation was launched after intelligence reports regarding the presence and movement of a wanted terrorist linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the area. Acting on the information, security personnel cordoned off the locality and conducted a targeted operation.

During the operation, the terrorist, identified as Hussain, opened fire on the advancing security personnel, triggering an exchange of fire. Security forces responded effectively, eliminating the terrorist on the spot.

According to security sources, the neutralized terrorist was associated with Fitna al-Khwarij and was allegedly involved in terrorist activities targeting security forces and law enforcement personnel. The area was subsequently cleared, while a search operation was carried out to ensure no accomplices had managed to escape.

Officials reiterated that intelligence-based operations against Fitna al-Khwarij continue across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as part of efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, eliminate their operational capabilities, and prevent future attacks.

Earlier, in another successful operation already reported, a joint operation by Kohat and Karak Police resulted in the elimination of four Fitna al-Khwarij terrorists, reflecting the continued pressure being maintained on terrorist elements across the province. Security officials have vowed that such operations will continue until the menace of terrorism is eradicated.
