CTD Arrests Four Suspects During Operations in Nawagai, Bajaur

In a decisive pre-dawn operation on Friday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended four suspected individuals during targeted raids conducted across multiple localities within the jurisdiction of Nawagai Police Station, Bajaur district.

The arrested suspects include Rohullah, son of Muhammad Zaman, a resident of Sur Dag; Ismail, also known as Tehsildar, son of Ziarat Khan, hailing from Kharyan; Ayub, son of Musa Khan, also from Kharyan; and Ehsanullah, son of an unidentified individual, belonging to Barrah in Nawagai. All four were taken into custody at around 8:05 a.m. and have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

CTD sources confirmed that the operation was part of a sustained intelligence-based campaign aimed at disrupting militant networks and curbing extremist activities in the tribal belt. During the raids, CTD personnel also attempted to apprehend four other individuals — Mukhtiar and Laiq Jan, both sons of Mian Jan and residents of Sagi Lara; Iqbal, son of an unidentified person, from Kharyan; and Muhammad Ali, also known as Maday, son of Faqeer, a resident of Sagi Lara — but they were not present at their residences.

Search efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconders. Law enforcement agencies have intensified surveillance and intelligence-gathering operations across the region to prevent any resurgence of militancy. The CTD reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the tribal districts through continued vigilance and targeted action.
