In a series of highly coordinated and intelligence-driven counterterrorism operations, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has dealt a significant blow to the militant network of Fitna-al-Khawarij, eliminating six terrorists across Khyber District and the outskirts of Peshawar.
In the first operation, CTD Khyber, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a targeted raid in Nakka Kallay, located along the Shah Kas Bypass Road in Jamrud, Khyber District. During the operation, three active terrorists affiliated with Fitna-al-Khawarij were killed in an exchange of fire. Two of their accomplices managed to escape into the surrounding mountainous terrain, prompting an ongoing search and area clearance operation.
According to CTD officials, the neutralized militants were heavily involved in attacks on security forces, as well as heinous crimes including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and other acts of terrorism. A cache of weapons, including three Kalashnikov rifles and ammunition, was recovered from their possession.
In a separate but equally significant operation, CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Peshawar carried out a successful targeted strike based on confirmed intelligence in the Tapu Sano area near Bacha Graveyard, Zahir Gari, on the outskirts of Peshawar. The operation resulted in the elimination of three highly wanted terrorists belonging to the same militant outfit.
Some accomplices exploited the dense residential surroundings to flee the scene. CTD teams have since launched an aggressive search-and-strike operation to apprehend the remaining fugitives and dismantle the residual network. The process of identifying the killed terrorists is underway. Weapons recovered from the site include two Kalashnikov rifles, one pistol, and a substantial quantity of ammunition.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Additional Inspector General CTD lauded the professionalism, courage, and operational precision of the CTD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams, congratulating them on the successful missions.
“The brave officers who confront terrorists with unwavering resolve are the pride of our nation,” the senior police leadership stated. “These courageous actions will prove to be decisive blows against Fitna-al-Khawarij and a major step toward lasting peace, stability, and the protection of innocent lives.”
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police reaffirmed their commitment to relentlessly pursuing terrorist elements and ensuring the maintenance of law and order across the province, emphasizing that operations against extremist networks will continue until their complete elimination.
