In a successful intelligence-based operation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and security forces forced terrorists to flee during a swift drone strike in the Takhti Khel area, within the jurisdiction of Baka Khel Police Station. Although no terrorists were killed or injured, officials hailed the operation as a tactical success in pushing back extremist elements.
According to police sources, a group of militants was spotted in Takhti Khel following credible intelligence. A quad-copter strike was immediately launched while the terrorists were reportedly present at the location. However, the militants managed to escape the area just moments after the strike.
Security forces quickly cordoned off the region and launched a large-scale search operation aimed at capturing or eliminating the fleeing suspects. Officials confirmed that the drone attack was part of a coordinated intelligence-based strategy, underscoring the enhanced capabilities and vigilance of local law enforcement.
Following the operation, security in the area was tightened further to prevent any regrouping or infiltration attempts by militant elements.
This operation is part of a broader campaign against militancy in the southern districts of KP, particularly in Bannu, Kohat Division, and surrounding areas. Security forces have been carrying out sustained actions against terrorist hideouts, making notable gains.
Just a day earlier, in Hangu, seven militants from the outlawed Kazim Group were injured during a similar crackdown, as their safe havens were dismantled, forcing them to flee.
While the recent Bannu strike did not result in casualties, officials emphasise that the militants’ retreat demonstrates the growing pressure being placed on terrorist networks through coordinated intelligence sharing and swift action by police and military forces.
