A clearance operation has been completed following a terrorist attack in the Gulistan area of Qila Abdullah district in Balochistan, officials said on Sunday, as the death toll from the bombing rose to four.
According to security officials, two more of the injured succumbed to their wounds during treatment, bringing the number of fatalities to four. Twelve others injured in the blast remain under medical care.
The explosion occurred on Sunday evening near a commercial market adjacent to the FC Qila Gulistan post. Initial reports confirmed that two people were martyred and more than ten were injured in the blast.
Deputy Commissioner of Qila Abdullah, Riaz Khan Dawar, confirmed that the attack was an attempt to target security forces. However, no security personnel were harmed in the incident.
Following the explosion, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest those responsible. The clearance operation has since been concluded.
