General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), NI, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), is on an official visit to Brunei Darussalam, where he held high-level meetings aimed at expanding bilateral defence collaboration and promoting regional peace and stability.
During the visit, the CJCSC had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including evolving global and regional security dynamics, and reaffirmed the desire to enhance defence cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also met Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence-II, and Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The discussions focused on strengthening military-to-military ties, training exchanges, and collaborative efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
The CJCSC also visited KDB DARULAMAN at Muara Naval Base and the Defence Academy of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, where he delivered a lecture on “Pakistan’s Contributions to Regional Peace and Stability.” He interacted with officers attending the Command and Staff Course, including participants from 19 foreign countries, highlighting Pakistan’s role as a key contributor to global peacekeeping and counterterrorism efforts.
Upon arrival at the Headquarters of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent. The Sultan and the civil-military leadership of Brunei Darussalam lauded the professional excellence of the Pakistan Armed Forces and commended their remarkable achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s enduring commitment to deepening defence and security cooperation with friendly nations and strengthening partnerships for peace and stability in the broader Asia-Pacific region.
