CJCSC Gen Sahir Shamshad Holds High-Level Defence Talks in Qatar

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza undertook an official visit to Qatar where he attended the second session of the High-Level Military Cooperation Committee meeting. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Mirza held meetings with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, and Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Jassim Mohammed Ahmad Al-Mannai.

During the interactions, both sides exchanged views on the evolving regional security environment and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace and stability at regional and global levels. The CJCSC highlighted the historic brotherly ties between Pakistan and Qatar and discussed prospects of enhanced defence and security cooperation under the framework of the High-Level Military Cooperation Committee.

Qatar’s civil and military leadership appreciated Pakistan’s pivotal and responsible role in promoting regional stability, while also lauding the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism. Earlier, upon his arrival at the Qatar Armed Forces Headquarters, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent.
