The victim, identified as Nek Nawaz, son of Zair Nawaz and a resident of Bachki, Jani Khel, was shot and wounded, prompting alarm among locals over the continued presence of extremist networks in the region.
According to official sources, Nek Nawaz was targeted by armed assailants believed to be linked with the Khawarij. He sustained bullet injuries in the attack, the motive for which remains unknown. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers fled the scene immediately after opening fire.
The injured civilian was rushed to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Bannu, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Hospital officials confirmed that emergency medical care was being provided and his condition is being monitored closely.
