Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong praised the Pakistan Air Force’s professional excellence in effectively employing Chinese-built technology during a meeting with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting focused on institutional linkages, enhanced defence cooperation, and the evolving regional geo-strategic environment. Both sides underscored the need for coordinated and integrated strategies to address emerging challenges.
Amid prevailing regional security dynamics, the Chinese Ambassador and the Air Chief emphasized the importance of robust operational preparedness and swift interoperability between the armed forces of the two countries.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reiterated that Pakistan and China are bound by a time-tested and historic friendship rooted in mutual trust, strategic harmony, and a shared commitment to regional peace and stability. He expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation and strategic partnership would deepen further in the future.
The Air Chief conveyed his gratitude for China’s unwavering support and lauded its pivotal role in advancing Pakistan’s defence capabilities through modernization and technological development. He particularly appreciated China’s contributions to human resource development, cutting-edge technology, and collaborative research and development.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to institutionalize high-level engagements and elevate cooperation across various domains.
The ISPR stated that Ambassador Jiang lauded the PAF’s exceptional operational prowess during recent tensions, calling it a hallmark of the Force’s steadfast commitment to national defence. He also commended the PAF’s self-reliant strategy and its effective integration of indigenously developed systems to counter emerging threats.
Reaffirming China’s consistent support to Pakistan, the Ambassador assured full technical assistance to further bolster the capabilities of the Pakistan Air Force. He noted that positive outcomes of PAF’s investments in indigenous technological development are now becoming evident and expressed confidence that continued focus on local innovation will significantly enhance Pakistan’s defence potential.
