Vice Admiral Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Ghofaily, Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, paid an official visit to the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where he held a high-level meeting with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC). The visit marked a reaffirmation of the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two military leaders held detailed discussions on key regional security developments, with a focus on the evolving dynamics in the Middle East and South Asia. Maritime security, a shared strategic priority for both nations, featured prominently in the exchange.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza welcomed Vice Admiral Al-Ghofaily and underscored the historic depth of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia defence ties. He emphasised the importance of sustained military-to-military engagement, joint training, and enhanced interoperability in addressing common security challenges.
Both sides reiterated their mutual resolve to deepen bilateral defence cooperation, particularly in the maritime domain. The meeting also reflected shared strategic alignment on maintaining regional stability and countering emerging threats in the broader Indian Ocean and Gulf regions.
Upon his arrival, Vice Admiral Al-Ghofaily was presented with a ceremonial guard of honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent, reflecting the respect and camaraderie between the two militaries.
The visit of the Saudi Naval Chief comes at a time when both countries continue to expand their defence and security collaboration across multiple domains, reinforcing a time-tested alliance rooted in trust, shared interests, and mutual strategic objectives.
