CDF Field Marshal Asim Munir Highlights Modern Warfare Readiness in Gujranwala and Sialkot

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, visited Gujranwala and Sialkot garrisons, where he reviewed operational readiness and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening combat preparedness.

Upon arrival, the Field Marshal was briefed by formation commanders on the security environment, training cycles and readiness posture. He later witnessed a field training exercise and visited an advanced simulator training facility, where he appreciated the formation’s high professional standards and overall state of preparedness.

Emphasising the evolving character of warfare, the COAS and CDF highlighted the importance of technological adaptability, noting that modern conflict requires agility, precision, situational awareness and rapid decision-making.

During interactions with officers and soldiers, Field Marshal Asim Munir praised their high morale and steadfast commitment to national security. He underlined the need for rigorous, mission-oriented training to effectively respond to emerging threats.

He reiterated that the Pakistan Army remains fully focused on addressing both internal and external challenges, including hostile hybrid campaigns, extremist ideologies and divisive elements seeking to undermine national stability.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Gujranwala, the COAS and CDF was received by the Corps Commander Gujranwala.
