An explosive-laden vehicle detonated near a civilian area in Miranshah, North Waziristan, leaving multiple people seriously injured and raising fears of casualties among local residents.
According to initial reports, militants linked to Fitna al-Khwarij, a term used by the state for the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), detonated the vehicle packed with explosives close to a populated area of the town.
Several injured individuals were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals where they are receiving medical treatment. Hospital sources said some of the wounded remain in critical condition, and fears persist that fatalities among civilians may be confirmed as the situation becomes clearer.
Preliminary information suggests the blast occurred when a suicide attacker inside the vehicle triggered the explosives, causing significant damage in the surrounding area and affecting nearby civilians.
Security forces quickly reached the site of the explosion, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to track down any facilitators or accomplices involved in the attack.
Security sources say the targeting of civilian areas reflects an attempt by militant elements to spread fear among tribal communities and destabilize the region.
